EN Partner Tecnopackinging participated in the “1st International seminar of biotechnology applied to the plastics sector”, which took place on the 1st and 2nd of March, online. The Spanish company AIMPLAS coordinated the event, giving space for a poster section in which Tecnopackaging participated with the presentation of a poster showing the results of the BioTHOP project.

Along with project UNLOCK, BioTHOP was used as a successful example of the revalorization of agro-waste biomass to create high-quality products for the agricultural sector.
The agro sector generates 19.5 tons of residues per year, coming from traditionally linear processes where these residues are landfilled or transformed into products of low added value. Tecnopackaging has contributed to the introduction of these residues in their R&D proposal focused on a circular economy, obtaining final products destined to the agricultural sector.
The seminar counted with the attendance of international speakers from Italy, Germany, or Spain. The posted section was available for consultation of the attendees and speakers.
