V nadaljevanju sta Matej Zupanc in Joris Cambie predstavila praktično izvajanje kompostiranja na kmetiji v Sloveniji in na ekološki kmetiji v Belgiji. Oba govornika sta pohvalila dobre lastnosti uporabe PLA vrvice.
EN In the frame of the traditional Hop Seminar organised by IHPS in 2022, we performed an online technical seminar and present the LIFE BiotHOP project results to 91 participants. In the beginning, the participants were addressed by Minister dr. Jože Podgoršek. Dr Barbara Čeh (IHPS, lead partner) presented composting hops process. She highlighted the detailed instructions for composting, the video made and the guidelines that are being prepared. Attendees were invited to view the content on the website and social networks of the BioTHOP project. Matej Zupanc and Joris Cambie presented the practical implementation of composting on the hop grower farm and on an organic farm in Belgium. Both speakers highlighted the good features of using a PLA twine. An organic hop grower from Belgium highlighted the benefits of proper composting to make good compost that is suitable for fertilizing next spring. He highlighted 3 important parameters that we need to adjust in the process, namely temperature, oxygen and water. Julija Polanšek presented the possibilities of using hop compost as a good solution to replace part of the need to purchase fertilizers on the farm and as an excellent form of ensuring the supply of soil with nutrients. The webinar was attended by hop growers, stakeholders, representatives of ministries, various institutions, as well as co-financiers of the project – municipalities of the Lower Savinja Valley and partners.
