In order to extend the replication and dissemination activities for the BIOTHOP project at the same time, we have reached out to local Portuguese hop growers that produce several varieties of hops, in order to test the new BioTHOP PLA twine, tested in Lower Savinja Valley in 2019 and modified according to response to be even better for the purpose of hop production.The hops produced in the Porto region are mainly used in local craft beers and the volumes are not large for the time being but the growers hope to change this in the future. In order to extend our testing to different markets and environments, we have installed the BiTHOP PLA twine in the hop garden of Lupulo Feirense. This will allow the twine to be tested in higher temperatures and in a region with a different plant support and guiding system to that used in other countries participating in the BioTHOP project.Untill now, the feedback for the new twine from the local growers has been very positive. As it’s typical for them to compost all of their green waste on-site, the PLA-based BioTHOP PLA twine brings a much better solution at the end of the season. Z namenom prenosa rezultatov projekta BioTHOP v druge EU regije in diseminacije naših aktivnosti smo se povezali z lokalnimi portugalski pridelovalci hmelja, ki proizvajajo več sort hmelja. Podarili smo jim modificirano BioTHOP PLA vrvico, ki je bila v letu 2019 testirana v hmeljiščih Spodnje Savinjske doline – demo regiji projekta – in tekom jeseni 2019 modificirana na podlagi povratnih informacij hmeljarjev. Hmelj, proizveden v regiji Porto, se uporablja predvsem v lokalnih pivovarnah in v manjših količinah, vendar pridelovalci upajo, da se bo to v prihodnosti spremenilo. Na slikah lahko vidite BioTHOP PLA vrvico, nameščeno v hmeljišču Lupulo Feirense – prenos v to regijo bo omogočil preverjanje njenega odziva na nekoliko višje temperature in večjo vlažnost. S strani lokalnih pridelovalcev doslej je odziv zelo dober. Ker ti pridelovalci že tako ali tako kompostirajo rastlinske ostanke na kmetijah, jim predstavlja BioTHOP PLA vrvica dobro rešitev za hmeljarsko panogo. Pridelovalce zelo zanima material, ki se uporablja za izdelavo vrvice, zanima jih njena trajnost in so jo, če bo odziv dober, pripravljeni tudi v bodoče uporabljati pri vzgoji svojih rastlin. De forma a estender as atividades de replicação e disseminação do projeto BIOTHOP a Portugal, contatamos produtores locais de lúpulo portugueses a fim de testar o novo fio BioTHOP PLA. Este fio foi já testado no vale de Savinja na Eslovénia no ano de 2019 com grande sucesso. O lúpulo produzido na região do Porto é usado principalmente em cervejas artesanais locais e os volumes não são grandes por enquanto, mas os produtores esperam mudar isso no futuro. Para estender os testes a diferentes mercados e ambientes, instalamos o fio BioTHOP PLA no campo de lúpulos do Lupulo Feirense. Isto permitirá que o fio seja testado em temperaturas mais altas e em uma região com um sistema de suporte e guia de plantas diferente daquele usado em outros países participantes do projeto BioTHOP. O feedback para o novo fio dos produtores locais foi muito positivo. Como é típico para eles compostarem os seus resíduos verdes no local, o fio BioTHOP PLA baseado em PLA oferece uma solução alternativa no final da temporada.
